Linda was raised in Ohio where she learned the art of scrimshaw in high school, becoming world renown for her work that she continues to this day. She moved to the Dallas area in 1982, then to Kerrville in 1997, after several seasons working as a camp cook in Alaska. She married Mark Stone, a local home builder, in 2000. They are both members of Kerr County Historical Commission and have restored many historic homes and buildings in Kerrville. Linda loves to research properties both to honor the past and to share their stories. Sometimes there are lessons to learn to appreciate in the future. The Stones have been instrumental in establishing four historical markers in Kerr County by the Texas Historical Commission.
