Upcoming Event: Family Game Day at the Dietert Center

Mark your calendars for Family Game Day at the Dietert Center on Saturday, January 20, 2024, from 2-4 p.m. The Heritage Center is excited to partner with the Dietert Center to welcome families and community members for a fun-filled day of games. Dietert and HHHC will provide games, snacks, and drinks for all ages. This event is just the first collaboration we are planning that will serve all ages, from 1 to 101!

Dietert has long been a community center that serves Kerrville’s senior citizen population, but with more families calling Kerrville home, Dietert wants to connect seniors with younger community members to enhance connections and lifelong learning opportunities. Many of the seniors who use Dietert’s services do not have family nearby and want to build relationships and share knowledge with younger generations.

The objective of Family Game Day is to begin engaging families so that they will start to see the Dietert Center as a place that serves them. Subsequent events will be scheduled for families and seniors to learn specific skills from each other and participate in engaging experiences through art, music, dance, archiving family history, and so much more!

The Heritage Center is working to design and develop a community-focused space to celebrate Kerr County’s history and cultural resources, and events like Family Game Day at the Dietert are a wonderful way for us to connect with our future visitors. We hope to see you at Dietert in 2024 to learn and play games old and new!
